Part‑Time Translator, Interpreter – Spanish (185 Days) GRANT FUNDED – REVISED

Join the Dallas Independent School District.

• Act as interpreter between students, parents, and school staff in English and Spanish.
• Provide accurate, non‑additive, non‑omissive interpretations.
• Conduct three‑way hotline interpretations between school staff and parents.
• Complete daily phone activity logs.
• Be available for evening, Saturday, and short‑notice meetings.
• Render clear and exact translations of written materials following guidelines.
• Pursue continued development of translation and interpretation skills.
• Support the district mission as an active team member.
• Perform all other assigned tasks.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; accredited high‑school diploma or equivalent plus 60 college hours acceptable.
• At least two years’ experience as a translator/interpreter.
• Strong written and oral fluency in Spanish and English; proficiency in proofreading.
• Proficient with Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and PDF documents.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate exemplary attendance.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, prioritization, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Capacity to learn use of FM transmitters/receivers (interpretation equipment).
• If working remotely, maintain an adequate work environment for calls.
