Support Engineer II-Ext - AMZ

Responsibilities

• Solve customer cases through a variety of contact channels (telephone, email, and web/live chat) using advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions and work with customers to identify root causes.
• Drive initiatives that improve support-related processes and the customer experience, including tutorials, how-to videos, technical articles, trainings, and other materials.
• Leverage customer support experience to provide feedback to internal AWS teams on how to improve services and work on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span multiple AWS services.
• Continuously learn groundbreaking technologies and develop new technical and professional competencies.
• Act as interviewer in hiring processes and coach/mentor new team members.
• 100% telecommuting permitted; work must be performed within the Dallas, TX area.

• Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Three years of experience in:
  • System administration and troubleshooting any operating system (Linux or Windows) and networking (HTTP/s, TCP/IP, DNS, OSI model, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, trace route, iperf, dig, CURL, or related).
  • Troubleshooting database concepts, database administration (RDBMS, No
    
    SQL, and Document DB), and data warehousing (high availability, DR, backup, performance tuning, and distributed systems).
