LHH is assisting a Dallas law firm in hiring a Patent Prosecution Docketing Paralegal. The role requires strong accuracy, time management, and the ability to work within a high‑volume, deadline‑driven environment. The paralegal will interact regularly with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and docketing leadership.

- Compensation & Bonus Structure
- No formal billable hour requirement
- Only one or two clients require limited timekeeping

- Follow applicable ethical rules (Texas Bar, USPTO) and firm professional liability requirements.
- Maintain the IP docketing database; review and extract key data from incoming correspondence.
- Track and calculate patent prosecution deadlines based on PTO rules and client‐specific requirements.
- Verify, process, and docket filings and other prosecution activity.
- Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to ensure dockets are accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Coordinate daily docketing tasks with team members to ensure full coverage.
- Support overall patent prosecution docketing workflow and assist with related tasks.
- Maintain punctual and reliable attendance.
- Work occasional overtime when necessary to meet workload demands.
- Strong organizational abilities and experience managing multiple deadlines
- High degree of accuracy and close attention to detail
- Ability to calculate deadlines precisely
- Skilled in proofreading for grammar, context, and accuracy
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Professional interpersonal communication
- Ability to work under pressure in a high‑volume environment
- Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and docketing systems
- Ability to maintain and manage complex docketing systems over time
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years of patent prosecution experience (specifically docketing or paralegal work)
- Strong preference for candidates with stable work histories and long‑term tenure
- Must have solid foundational paralegal and/or docketing experience in patent prosecution
- Firm values candidates who demonstrate loyalty, commitment, and consistency in their career path
- Work hours options: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Overtime available but generally limited
- Remote work is common; paralegals are located across Houston, San Antonio, and Austin
- Strong communication is expected regardless of location
