HBK is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Legal Department with primary responsibility for negotiating and managing HBK’s counter party and trading documentation and providing investment related support. This position reports to the General Counsel of HBK. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented lawyer to join મેં an entrepreneurial, intellectually rigorous in‑house legal and compliance team, advising on the legal and Interpretational implications of operating a global investment management business.

• Negotiate, review, and manage HBK’s counter party and trading documentation, including ISDAs/CSAs, prime brokerage, futures, repo, and other related trading agreements; monitor and assist with implementing regulatory developments impacting counter party agreements.
• Provide investment support to HBK’s investment teams on a variety of matters including secondary debt trading, restructuring, continuation funds, merger‑arb, convert‑arb, PIPEs, structured credit and emerging markets.
• Advise on capital markets, financing and securities law matters that arise in relation to HBK’s investment and trading activity.
• Partner closely with HBK’s portfolio finance and treasury team on financing arrangements relating to HBK’s investments, and with HBK’s valeurs to operate the settlement of secondary debt trades.
• Provide legal and regulatory support in respect of HBK’s trading and assist HBK’s Compliance Department on matters arising under its compliance program in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support all aspects of the Legal Department function, including providing counsel to HBK’s front and back‑office personnel on legal and regulatory matters.

The ideal candidate must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the Texas Bar (or equivalent) and should possess strong academic and organizational skills, be self‑motivated, have strong oral and written communication skills, and be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast‑paced, high–stakes environment. A minimum of 4 years of experience working on corporate transactional matters and/or counter party and trading documentation at a major law firm and/or investment management firm is strongly preferred, along with expertise in securities law and regulatory frameworks.
