The Transportation Officer is responsible for securely transporting detainees and ensuring vehicle safety and maintenance.

• Conduct pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Provide written Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and report safety defects.
• Ensure permits and licenses are valid before trips; notify supervisor of issues.
• Verify safety equipment is in place; report problems.
• Complete accurate paperwork and reports, submitting them as per policies.
• Secure detainees properly during transport, ensuring all paperwork is complete.
• Follow all safety laws, regulations, policies, and procedures during transportation.
• Report accidents immediately, providing detailed verbal and written information.
• Manage vehicle servicing and pickups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent; valid state requisites.
• At least 3 years of experience handling prisoners or as a law enforcement/military officer.
• Must be at least 21 years old and a U.S. citizen.
• Valid U.S. driver license and 80 hours of certified driver’s training.
• State Firearms and Security Guard licenses.
• Completion of approved training in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
• Clean driving record for the past 3 years; no DWI/DUI or major violations.
• Pass a company and DOT drug and alcohol test.
• Ability to work overtime, travel, and handle physical and mental stress.
• Reliable attendance and alertness during shifts.
• Ability to work up to 16 hours in a 24-hour period.
• Ability to work with computers and obtain a USDOT medical certificate if required.
