The Lead Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement and strategic sourcing of parts, equipment,materials, and maintenance services.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that improve supplier performance, ensure continuity ofsupply, and reduce total cost of ownership.
- Lead enterprise-level sourcing events, including RFQs, RFPs, and supplier business reviews.
- Negotiate complex supplier agreements, contracts, pricing structures, warranties, and service arrangements.
- Establish and manage strategic supplier partnerships and key vendor relationships.
- Analyze procurement spend, supplier performance, and market trends to identify business opportunities and risks.
- Partner with operational and functional leaders to forecast requirements and develop sourcing solutions.
- Lead supplier performance management activities, including KPI development, corrective action plans,and continuous improvement efforts.
- Drive standardization, supplier consolidation, and procurement transformation initiatives.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, audit requirements, and procurement governance activities.
- Serve as the functional expert and escalation point for complex procurement matters
- Minimum 6 years in purchasing, accounting or related experience is preferred (finance, accounts payable, customer service). A combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience leading Strategic Sourcing initiatives/RFP’s, proposal analysis, business award, etc.
- Experience negotiating contracts and supplier agreements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience utilizing ERP or procurement systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
