The Role
The Chief Strategy Officer will act as steward of the concession’s Strategic Plan, provide strategic support to the CEO, and ensure that actions are executed on time. The CSO will use strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills to serve as key internal adviser to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities- Advise the CEO in the definition, implementation, and review of the Company’s Strategic Plan.
- Analyze risks and complex issues to provide strategic guidance and efficient solutions.
- Evaluate operational reports, financial metrics, and budgets.
- Prepare executive presentations for board meetings, investor conferences and employee town ships.
- Present performance progress to stakeholders and participate in quarterly Board meetings.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify new opportunities.
- Participate in the analysis, negotiation and execution of large capital investment projects.
- Analyze and implement capital structure optimizations.
- Contribute to the appointment of executive management positions and evaluate performance.
- Foster a culture of innovation and technology across the organization.
- Assist the CEO with people, culture and change management initiatives.
- Promote the organization locally and nationally.
- Report progress on the strategic plan to key stakeholders.
- Perform additional job‑related duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree required and Master’s Degree strongly preferred in Finance, Engineering, Business Management, Sustainable Urban Planning, or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in a managerial role, preferably in roadway contracts, design & construction, and operational oversight of large infrastructure projects.
- Experience in concession operations and acquisition/management of infrastructure projects.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Experience in project management and change management.
- Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple work streams in parallel.
- Change agent who leads through influence.
- Excellent organizational, project management and general managerial skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems and work through ambiguity.
- Exceptional listening, persuasion, negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Proficient in English.
- Knowledgeable in US concession management, with understanding of government relations.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other PC‑based programs.
- Willingness to travel and work the required hours.
- Meet the company’s in‑person work requirements.
- Commitment to relocate within the US or Canada.
- Preferred commitment to relocate globally.
- The noise level is usually quiet.
- Travel is required regionally and internationally.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
