ManagingDirector of Capital Markets
The Managing Director of Capital Markets will be responsible for developing and strategically implementing the firm’s capital raising, investor marketing, and investor relations initiatives. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, with proven capital‑raising experience and deep connections with Ultra High‑Net‑Worth investors, Family Offices, Fund of Funds, and institutional investors nationwide. The Managing Director will also play a leadership role on the company’s investment committee and support strategic decisions on land acquisitions, development funding, joint ventures, and capital markets activities.
PrimaryDuties
- Grow the existing investor base with a specific focus on qualified high‑net‑worth, ultra‑high net‑worth, and family offices
- Source and cultivate relationships with RIAs
- Represent the company at conventions, annual meetings, industry events, and seminars using his/her professional network
- Successfully maintain relationships with industry influencers, leaders, and key strategic partners
- Close investor commitments to achieve project and business plan objectives
- Work with the IR teams and all associated departments to develop and provide high‑quality communications and services for current and prospective investors
- Coordinate the Private Placement Memorandum and affirm investor accreditation and funding process upon investor commitment
- Collaborate with other members of the Capital Markets team for a cohesive approach to capital raising and investor relations
- Develop and execute capital‑raising strategies in conjunction with senior leaders
- Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, family offices, pension funds, endowments, and other potential investors
- Track and report progress: maintain accurate records of investor interactions, commitments, and fund flows, and provide regular updates and reports to senior management
- Coordinate investor material development with Asset Management and lead the creation and dissemination of marketing content
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes impacting commercial real‑estate and capital markets to identify emerging opportunities and risks
- Attend meetings, industry events, and conferences to meet with targeted and existing investors and represent the firm
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (MBA or CPA strongly preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in real estate finance, investment management, or corporate finance, with progressive leadership responsibilities
- Demonstrated success in capital markets, underwriting, and financial stewardship of multifamily real‑estate projects
- Strong understanding of real‑estate development cycles, apartment communities, and other asset classes
- Deep knowledge of financial systems, modeling, accounting, and tax structures relevant to development entities
- Proven track record of successfully raising capital from institutional investors, family offices, and high‑net‑worth individuals
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively and collaborate with cross‑functional teams
- Consistent, frequent, and effective communication, coordination, and collaboration with individuals and groups, primarily face‑to‑face and via telephone and electronic media
- Willingness to travel to investor and lender meetings on behalf of the organization and conduct property tours, as needed
