The Senior Construction Manager is accountable for the coordinated field execution of large, complex, or multiple National Fiber Team projects or work areas. This role provides senior-level oversight to Construction Managers and field leadership to deliver safe, high-quality work on schedule and within approved budgets, in accordance with customer specifications, NTI standards, and contractual requirements. The Senior Construction Manager translates operational priorities into executable field plans, resolves cross-team constraints, validates forecasts and performance, develops Construction Managers, and serves as an escalation point for field execution.
Project Managers retain responsibility for contractual and commercial project administration, while Operations leadership retain division-level resource and policy authority.
- Direct and coach assigned Construction Managers and field leadership across multiple crews, shifts, or work areas.
- Establish consistent expectations for daily kickoffs, shift handoffs, production reviews, and field accountability.
- Validate CM staffing plans, assignments, leadership coverage, and escalation practices.
- Intervene in systemic field obstacles and coordinate solutions across projects or disciplines.
- Develop succession plans and identify high-potential field leaders.
- Oversee execution against IFC drawings, scopes of work, customer standards, NTI standards, safety requirements, and approved schedules.
- Integrate three-week look-ahead plans, construction sequencing, access constraints, material readiness, and labor loading.
- Review CM execution plans and confirm that handoffs between installation, splicing, testing, validations, and closeout are coordinated.
- Lead recovery planning for underperforming work fronts and elevate scope or schedule changes to Project Management.
- Standardize field execution practices across assigned projects.
