Overview

Continental Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions with over 75 years of proven performance. CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go-to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products, military customers, to space research laboratories.

The primary function of the Assembler is to provide a variety of electronic and mechanical assembly tasks, eager to learn and grow as a versatile assembler. You will be using general tools such as soldering irons, cutters, wrenches, luggers, component bending tools, power tools and screwdrivers, vacuum equipment, heat guns, tie wrap guns, crimpers, crimping machines and possibly others.

M-F 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (some extended hours may be required from time to time) & some Saturdays. Hourly, non-exempt.

Location:

must be willing to work in both Dallas and Richardson depending on assignments. Eventually, work will only be in Richardson, 1401 E Lookout Drive.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of diverse electronic or mechanical production assembly tasks meeting a consistent level of high skill, knowledge and versatility while maintaining high quality expectations
  • Solder, assemble, route and secure wiring/cables into subassemblies such as panels and cabinets
  • Use hand tools and specialty tools as required
  • Perform rework resulting from drawing change notices
  • Cross-train as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant
  • Develop working knowledge of the production environment
  • Comply with manufacturing code of conduct
  • Prioritize safety, quality, accuracy, and reliability of work performed

  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct
  • Report quality problems or defects to manager or senior management to implement corrective action and prevent recurrence
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years related assembly experience
  • Experience with electromechanical panel wiring, cabinet wiring, PLCs onto panel enclosures, and wire routing
  • Use and operate various computer systems and applicable software (such as retrieving work instructions or manufacturing module in ERP system)
  • Ability to follow technical drawings and assembly instructions and processes to assemble cables to manufacturing and industry specifications
  • Must be work driven and goal-oriented
  • Must work well with others and follow given instructions
  • Gain trust and respect of others
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity and certification of IPC 610 & 620 or J-Standards-001
  • Awareness of Lean Six Sigma processes
Working Conditions

This position works in a production environment with a risk of injury; safety equipment must be worn when working with equipment in the shop. Bending, lifting and pushing up to 100 pounds (with assistance) is required.
