The Digital Press Operator sets up and operates the HP Digital printing press to produce pressure‑sensitive labels and related products.
2nd Shift – 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, Monday–Thursday (10 hours).
Responsibilities- Produce high quality labels that meet the job specifications outlined on the label order to match customer standards.
- Input data, including time and materials used, into job management software.
- Read job order and load jobs into press, with correct primers, tint rollers, stocks, counts, and color strategies.
- Start press, verify correct stock, alignment of stock, color calibrations, and sizing before printing, and inspect for imperfections and make adjustments as necessary.
- Adjust color as necessary to verify color accuracy of finished piece; X‑rite/I1 table knowledge a plus.
- Cut and save a full sample from each printed item for the sample library and ticket.
- Assist with finishing operations and duties as necessary.
- Communicate job‑specific information or changes to the supervisor in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
- Report any production or press downtime issues to supervisor promptly.
- Keep inventory usage accurate at all times.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as required, including basic technician part changes when needed.
- Keep work areas clear and organized; maintain housekeeping standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of previous experience operating an HP digital press in a printing environment, and/or proof of level 2 or higher certifications from HP, preferably web press (4‑6 series equipment).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales, and other measurement devices.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and walk regularly.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
- Requires specific vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
