JOB SUMMARYThe Assembler will assemble small components. This role will assemble the THP product line (OF/OF2, N2 systems, N2 Generator). This role will also braze and weld. This role will also have large assembly projects (Tap Changer Overhauls, LRT
200 builds). 70% of the role will consist of Assembly and teardown, 20% of the role will consist of sub-assembly, and the remaining 10% of the role will be testing, inspection, and work product and station clean‑up.
- Assembly of small components as well as large assembly projects.
- Train new hires on shop layout and different functions.
- Drive as needed (Plating, ACT, ACCU Machining).
- Exceed or meet Work Order build times.
- Clean parts.
- Inspect parts to print to verify assembly.
- Keep work area clean and free of hazards.
- Maintain an acceptable production rate while not sacrificing quality of work.
- Meet customer and company quality standards.
- Minimize rework and scrap.
- Optimize setup time.
- Adhere to all company safety standards.
- Provide support to other departments as needed.
- Day‑to‑day work assignments may increase in complexity and volume.
Assemblers work with and are trained on proprietary information, which is company confidential. They are expected to control this information as prescribed in the business policies manual.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic understanding of electrical components.
- Use basic measuring tools (calipers).
- Read and interpret detailed wiring diagrams and drawings.
- Proficient in the use of basic shop tools.
- Good eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Computer proficient.
- Work independently.
- Understand company quality standards.
- Provide accurate time required estimates.
- Be a team player.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of assembly experience in one of the listed fields above.
Key Working Relationships
:
Functional Leaders – Engineering, Human Resources, Sales Operations, Sourcing, Purchasing, Operations.
Physical Demands
:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions
:
Shop‑floor and office environment, located on a large manufacturing campus.
