Materials Expeditor

Overview

CEC has experienced significant recent growth and is the go‑to supplier for a diversified product line supporting commercial products, military customers, and space research laboratories.

The Associate Materials Planner will support the Material Planning team by expediting and moving material, tracking, scheduling, coordinating, and placing material requirements to meet production goals and schedules.

Note:
The work location will change from Dallas to Richardson in 2026.

• Develop material purchase requisitions and manufacturing orders to support production operations.
  
  Track purchase requisition placement and purchase order status to meet delivery schedules in coordination with supply chain/purchasing (buyers).
• Create manufacturing/work orders for release to the production floor with minimal oversight.
• Expedite material movement to support program schedules in coordination with manufacturing and logistics teams.
• Analyze manufacturing data for completeness, resolve material shortages, and monitor inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain the integrity of Bills of Materials (BOM) and report on inventory discrepancies.
• Distribute material according to established procedures and prepare related correspondence, reports, and forms.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Material Planning Manager.

• Report quality problems or defects to management to implement corrective action and prevent recurrence.

• 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 months of experience working with an MRP system (SAP, Costpoint, etc.).
• At least 3 months of experience coordinating with a supply chain/logistics team.
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office 365, especially Excel.

• Pursuing or holds a Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS).
• Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with system manufacturing (fabrication, assembly, testing) processes.

• Good communicator, team player.
• Driven, proactive, analytical, problem‑solving.
• Results‑oriented and organized with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail.
