Responsibilities- Perform and maintain daily activities associated with a production line, including housekeeping, safety, quality, and production efficiencies.
- Work 40+ hours per week, weekends and varying shifts as required (8 or 12 hour shifts with next day start options).
- Embrace a culture of safety.
- Manage a plastic extrusion line to ensure finished goods meet quality specifications.
- Utilize standard operating procedures to keep the production line running with specifications.
- Lead line tooling changes, start-ups, and shutdowns.
- Maintain a safe work environment through proper PPE and housekeeping compliance.
- Accurately complete shift production and reporting paperwork.
- Conduct regular product sampling to ensure consistent quality.
- Assist with the Preventative Maintenance program.
- Meet or exceed standard production efficiencies on all production lines.
- Maintain and increase ability to operate various production lines through certifications.
- Troubleshoot process and mechanical problems; perform repairs and adjustments to meet production needs.
- Perform tooling changeovers safely and efficiently.
- Practice continuous improvement, including line and facility housekeeping.
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities.
- Basic computer skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery, i.e., forklifts, safely.
- Reading and writing skills.
- Self‑motivated.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred ExperiencePrevious manufacturing machine operation or extrusion experience.
Physical RequirementsAbility to perform physical labor for extended periods in fluctuating temperatures; full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles; stand and be mobile throughout a 12‑hour shift; physically handle and transport finished goods.
