The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for ensuring the effective planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the facility. This role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, optimizing spare parts usage, and supporting overall operational efficiency within an environment that includes injection molding machines, extruders, die press equipment, and vibratory welding cells. The Maintenance Planner will also be expected to provide hands‑on technical support by performing maintenance technician duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Planning and Scheduling
- Develop, coordinate, and manage preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, emergency work orders, and project‑related tasks in the CMMS/MES system.
- Prioritize maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and maximum asset reliability.
- Monitor work order progress and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
- Spare Parts and Inventory Management
- Coordinate with the Procurement Specialist to maintain an accurate inventory of machine and equipment‑related spare parts.
- Issue and track spare parts for work orders, ensuring proper documentation in the CMMS.
- Ensure all parts usage is logged and reconciled to support cost tracking and audit compliance.
- Technical and Execution
- Perform preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and project‑related maintenance tasks as required.
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures.
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and production teams to maintain optimal equipment performance.
- Continues Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and extend equipment life.
- Support implementation of reliability‑centered maintenance practices.
- Participate in safety and quality initiatives to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning, industrial maintenance, or related field within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with injection molding, extrusion, die press, or vibratory welding equipment is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in CMMS/MES systems for scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Hands‑on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance planning responsibilities with hands‑on technician duties.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to heavy machinery and production floor activity.
- May require standing, lifting, and performing hands‑on technical work during PM and emergency tasks.
- Rotational support for off‑shift or weekend maintenance activities as needed.
