JOB SUMMARY The Department of Surgery is recruiting for a Marketing Manager to develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that engage patients, faculty, referring providers, and staff.

This role will develop, implement and track department email, social media, podcast, digital campaigns, and events. The marketing manager will also lead their team to develop and create marketing materials, write, proofread, and edit creative and technical content across different mediums. This role will work closely with department leadership to align marketing goals with institutional strategy. Candidates should possess strong grammar usage as well as proofreading, copywriting and graphic design.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required Education Bachelor 's Degree Experience6 years in marketing, communications, or advertising. At least two of these years must be specialized in marketing or marketing communications in a corporation or agency with Bachelor's degree. or May consider additional years of experience in lieu of education. Preferred Education Master 's Degree Experience4 years in marketing, communications, or advertising with Master's degree.

JOB DUTIES Plan, develop, and manage both brand marketing and direct response marketing strategies and tactics that enhance the footprint in the regional market and beyond to achieve established goals.

Responsible for the establishment and oversight of a system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that marketing and advertising dollars are being allocated effectively, that operations are efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial and volume growth information is reliable.

Direct the development of programmatic promotional materials as needed by clinical services, targeting both consumers and referring physicians.

Working closely with UTSW Digital, Creative, and Web Services, ensure consistent brand articulation across all channels and media. Develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing/communications/public relations function.

Assume secondary responsibility for the development and support of digital and social media marketing strategies that support volume growth, in conjunction with the web team and the marketing team's editorial staff.
