This position is accountable to provide day‑to‑day guidance and support of the professional practice model structure in collaboration with the Magnet Program and Nursing Research Department manager and director who report to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Nursing Officers, and Chief Nurse Executive. The Program Manager for the Magnet Program and Nursing Research Department ensures that UTSW maintains American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program designation and supports all aspects of the application, designation, re‑designation processes.
This position understands, recommends, and executes programs and tactics that support the Health System workforce, values, and culture as they relate to the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program.

- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Experience: 5 years as a registered nurse and 2 years of management experience. Prior experience in project management, project development, and understanding of professional practice environment.

- The Program Manager may perform some or all the following under the general direction of the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Magnet Program and Nursing Research Department Director/Manager, or designee, and in collaboration with various department leadership and stakeholders:
- Supports and provides leadership to sustain the Magnet culture by promoting professional shared governance, professional practice, transformational leadership, effective communication, meaningful recognition, safety, quality, well‑being, and continuous professional development.
- Maintains current knowledge of Magnet designation requirements and processes, assists with achievement of organizational goals; understands and communicates regarding data and organizational outcomes with particular focus on nurse sensitive quality indicators and patient experience data.
- Participates in planning and leading the Magnet Program Steering Committee and Magnet Champions Committee meetings; leads subgroups of the Magnet Program Steering Committee; provides guidance and support of the re‑designation process; plans, organizes, guides activities and projects that support the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program requirements.
- Develops and facilitates programs identified to improve employee relations, teamwork, communication, and decision making. Administers, coordinates, plans, and executes Nursing Rewards & Recognition Programs including, but not limited to the Daisy Program, Certified Nurses Day, Nurses Week, Great 100 Nurses, D Magazine, Nominations Committee, Rory Meyers Scholarship, Nursing Excellence newsletter, Nursing Annual Report and other nursing activities, events, or…
