Baylor University Medical Center (Baylor Dallas), part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is a major patient care, teaching and research center located in Dallas, Texas. Established in 1903, the hospital opened with 25 beds and has grown to 914 licensed beds, cares for more than 300,000 people each year and serves as the North Texas flagship hospital of Baylor Scott & White Health.

Our Acute Care units are fast paced units that include high acuity patients. Our Acute Care leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building each team member.

Patient Population: Heart arrhythmias, Chest pain, MI, Post Cardiac Procedures, Renal Failure, Pneumonia, Sepsis, CHF, Cardiac Drips, Hypertensive Emergencies on Cardene Drip as well as some neurological patients on NIHSS assessment

Unit selling points: 95% of RNs have BSN, 39% of nurses have national certification in PCCN, CCRN, CMSRN, half of nurses are tenured with an average of 20 years, diverse workforce, welcoming and friendly staff, unit leaders advocate staff career progression
