Job Summary

Assists in the provision of supplemental nursing staff to in‑patient and other areas. Works with departments within the hospital to ensure appropriate and timely patient placement. Assists staff in obtaining needed supplies and equipment. Utilizes chain of command to address departmental or facility issues. Responds to emergencies on the campus. Implements emergency plans for the facility. Interacts with patients, families, staff and physicians to ensure prompt resolution of concerns.

Supports hospital mission, vision and goals. Places emphasis on customer service.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • BSN required.
  • Two years as a staff nurse in specialty area.
  • Two years in management (Manager or Unit Supervisor).
  • Specialty area experience (ICU, ED, etc.).
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
  • Current AHA or ARC BLS Provider.
  • AHA or ARC ACLS required within 12 months of hire.
  • AHA or ARC PALS required within 90 days of hire or no later than January 2014 for current employees.
