Job Summary and QualificationsThis is a Part Time Day shift position, 7:00am–7:00pm, includes weekends and holidays.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care in line with state and specialty practice standards. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team, advocating for patients, families, and caregivers, and ensuring outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes. Your RN Med Surg Ortho role will treat patients undergoing surgeries for musculoskeletal conditions, traumatic events, or chronic conditions.
Responsibilities- Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered, and ensure thorough and timely documentation in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action if there is an unintended response.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
- Associate Degree required at hire; BSN required within 24 months of hire into an RN position.
- Current RN license in Texas or a compact license.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- Minimum of one year of acute care hospital experience within the last three years.
- Experience in Orthopedics highly preferred.
- Charge and/or supervisor experience preferred.
