Position Responsibilities
  • Understand the Mission Statement of North Central Surgical Center and carry it out
  • Determine data collection based on the patient's condition or needs related to proposed interventions
  • Address physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs/responses of patients
  • Prioritize tasks and remain flexible as job priorities change
  • Maintain a positive can-do attitude
  • Ensure work is accurate and complete
  • Follow AORN standards
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member
  • Complete initial and annual competency training as required
  • Maintain licenses, certifications, and adherence to dress code, attendance, punctuality, meal breaks, and rest periods
  • Communicate clearly and concisely
  • Attend required department and hospital meetings
  • Assume responsibility for continuing education requirements
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or professional nursing
  • One (1) year of surgical experience
  • Current state RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
  • CNOR preferred
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures specific to the operating room
  • Clinical proficiency in OR nursing skills, including developmental needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
