Progressive Care Registered Nurse Or PCU RN

We are seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse or PCU RN, internally referred to as our Progressive Care Nurse. In the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), the PCU RN or Step-Down RN will provide specialized care to patients with acute and / or chronic medical conditions who require close monitoring, intervention, and support to optimize their outcomes and facilitate their transition to lower levels of care.

• Conduct assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, respiratory status, and overall clinical stability, monitor changes and respond promptly to deterioration.
• Utilize telemetry and other monitoring devices to continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure, and other parameters and recognize abnormalities.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians, including intravenous medications, antibiotics, pain management medications, and cardiac medications, while vigilantly monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Perform nursing interventions and treatments as ordered, such as wound care, catheter care, suctioning, and administration of oxygen therapy, and assist with procedures as needed.
• Adhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, hospital policies, and protocols related to patient care, infection control, and safety.

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, critical care preferred.

• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
