Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231
Work hours: Full Time, Nights - Varying overnight shifts including rotating weekends
Behavioral Health Department highlights:
- Busy outpatient clinic consists of Partial Hospital Programs and Intensive Out-Patient Program with consistent volume serving adults with co-occurring behavior health and chemical dependency needs
- Professional nurses will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the safety and treatment of patients participating in the day hospital program
- Professional nurses will participate in treatment team meetings as needed and will teach nursing groups three times a week for patients in women's, co-ed, and chemical dependency groups
- Nursing Diploma required OR
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
- BSN preferred
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or nursing diploma required
- BCLS prior to hire
- BCPMHN upon hire required
- ACPI (30 days within hire)
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required
- One year of Behavioral Health experience strongly preferred
- RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assess the patient
- Plan for the care of the patient
- Implement interventions as appropriate
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporate age‑specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
- Initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant others’ need for information
- Maintain continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
