Join UT Southwestern as a Registered Nurse at the Simmons Cancer Center in the Redbird Infusion clinic in south Dallas. As a RN at UT Southwestern, you will have the opportunity to join a team of the top cancer specialists in the country and be a part of our innovative therapies, cutting-edge research, and life changing clinical trials. The ideal person will be administering chemotherapy, Immunotherapy and Non-oncology treatments.
Administration of central line Care, PIV Care and injections. Patient education and patient assessment.

- Education
Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program either by a governmental authority, nursing board, or by a licensing authority that has jurisdiction over approval/accreditation of nursing programs (Texas BON 217.1). - Experience
1 year of nursing experience. - Licenses and Certifications
Current Texas (or BNE Compact State) nursing license Upon Hire
(BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Certification course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire
- Education
Bachelor's Degree - BSN preferred.
- Assesses and documents physiological, psychological sociocultural, and spiritual health status of patient on admission utilizing age-specific considerations for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Performs ongoing assessment of patient's physiological health status throughout the care continuum. Communicates relevant health status data to other team members and departments.
- Interprets health status data to anticipate patient's family, and physician's needs and expectations. Develops appropriate plan of care for patient. Utilizes critical thinking skills in planning and prioritizing oncology-nursing care.
- Identifies and implements appropriate nursing interventions based on health status data. Completes accurate and timely documentation of these interventions. Collaborates with all members of health care team, sharing information and observations of patient and/or patient's family in manner that contributes to optimal patient care.
- Evaluates implemented interventions and modifies care according to evaluation. Documents interventions and modifications to plan of care in accurate and timely manners. Prioritizes oncology nursing interventions per patient's health status data, physician orders and guidance, and planned procedures as applicable.
