Registered Nurse (RN)-Medical ICU (MICU)

WORK LOCATION:

Texas Health Dallas is located at 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

WORK SCHEDULE:

Full Time Nights: 7 PM
-7 AM for a total of 36 hours a week with some weekends and holidays.

MEDICAL ICU DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Intensivist program that provide 24/7 coverage
  • The new medical complex is devoted to intensive care for the region's most critically ill patients.
  • Continuous education provided for commonly used devices.
  • Involved Unit Based Council
  • Opportunities available to get involved in unit and hospital affairs
  • Self‑scheduling
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
  • Diploma of Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) Required
  • BSN preferred.
  • 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required;
  • One or more years of ICU experience strongly preferred; would consider Emergency, PACU or PCU
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support – Prior to providing Independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support – within 90 days of hire
  • CPI-Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 60 days of hire is required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast‑paced environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
  • The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.
  • The professional nurse demonstrates an appreciation of unique meanings by:
  • active listening and exemplifying a non-judgmental attitude
  • The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient's affiliations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
