The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards and specifications. This role involves inspecting materials, components, and finished products; identifying defects; performing testing and data analysis; and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to uphold compliance with internal and external quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials and products.
- Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Record inspection data and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Conduct quality audits and support compliance with ISO/AS/industry‑specific standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain and calibrate quality tools and inspection equipment.
- Support product testing and sample evaluation as needed.
- Ensure adherence to quality policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in a quality assurance or inspection role (industry‑specific experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with quality tools and concepts (e.g., 5S, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma).
- Basic understanding of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality systems.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (QMS).
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods.
- May need to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to help with quality repairs as needed.
- Manual dexterity for handling small parts and measurement tools.
