Overview

The Levi Laboratory at UT Southwestern Medical Center (visit ) is seeking a highly motivated surgery resident or recent graduate with a strong interest in cancer biology, burn injury, trauma, or tissue regeneration to join our dynamic, interdisciplinary research team.

Background

The Levi Lab studies mechanisms of tissue injury and repair, with particular emphasis on wound healing, regeneration, and the biological response to trauma and burns. Our research integrates cutting edge molecular and cellular biology, bioengineering, and translational approaches to develop innovative therapies that improve outcomes for patients with severe injury or tissue loss. We offer experiences with both clinical and preclinical models.

Qualifications
  • MD or equivalent degree with completion or current enrollment in a general surgery residency (PGY2–PGY5 preferred)
  • Demonstrated interest or prior research experience in one or more of the following: cancer biology, trauma, burn injury, or regenerative medicine
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Commitment to pursuing an academic career as a surgeon‑scientist
