Job DescriptionOur Restaurant Managers are the guardians of the Nando’s experience for our guests and our people. They are instrumental in breathing the life of our strong culture into their restaurant while growing the next generation of restaurant leaders. In this role, Restaurant Managers ensure the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably. As with all members of the Nando’s family, there is an expectation to wear multiple hats, seek out opportunities to make us and themselves better every day and be a good team player!
Leadership& Team Development
- Be a leader of your peers and Nandocas by inspiring confidence in their abilities
- Engage with guests and Nandocas to develop relationships and create lasting connections
- Effectively train and develop your Nandocas to take on additional responsibility
- Provide consistent feedback, performance coaching and communicate disciplinary actions to ensure accountability to Nando's standards and policies
- Practice and support appropriate goal setting with Nandocas
- Exude professional language and demeanor at all times to navigate and resolve situations with both Nandocas and guests
- Delegate tasks to empower Nandocas
- Lead all shifts to Nando’s food safety and operational standards while providing an excellent and safe guest and Nandoca experience
- Utilize a base understanding of restaurant financials to oversee labor and food management
- Ensure safety and security by safeguarding keys, securing doors, and setting the alarm
- Support marketing efforts, drive Nandoca salesmanship and guest experience contests
- Practice responsible cash management (monies issued, safe counts, deposit preparation, cashier checkouts, discount authorizations, refunds, voids) following Nando's policies
- Thoroughly execute opening duties (read MCL, review staff lineup, check catering orders, review sales forecast, validate inventory, complete prep sheet, assign cash drawers, order change, complete chicken cook sheet)
- Own back‑of‑house duties during the shift (prep lists, cook sheet usage, line checks)
- Conduct shift changeover (reconcile monies, validate production levels, final walk‑through, update MCL)
- Execute closing duties (final walk‑through, clean, catering prep, closing inventory, cash reconciliation, time‑keeping validation, end‑of‑day reports, update MCL)
- People: Energize, coach, engage and inspire your team to exceed expectations. Recruit, interview, onboard, train, schedule and maintain effective communication with Nandocas.
- Product: Lead a quality food program meeting cost targets and standards, maintain consistency, safety and sanitation, manage inventory, oversee waste and recycling, conduct audits, and train the team on product knowledge.
- Place: Maintain restaurant cleanliness and equipment, manage preventative maintenance, pest control, merchandizing displays, recycling, and educate the team on the art program.
