Position Overview
The PT Assistant Manager is responsible for executing all operational, merchandising, and managerial functions during their assigned shift. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager will serve as the manager‑on‑duty, charged with all daily operational responsibilities and supervision of Sales Associates for the store to which they are assigned.
Responsibilities- Drive sales to meet or exceed the financial plan.
- Assist the Store Manager in evaluating business performance and taking proactive steps to improve results.
- Help set and monitor store goals (individual, daily, weekly) and manage store expenses.
- Ensure all funds and merchandise are handled according to company policy and procedure.
- Maintain final report accountability for store operations, associate development, and financial contribution.
- Schedule at least one grassroots event per quarter.
- Effectively market externally to build new business and promote in‑store events through social media.
- Provide an exceptional customer service experience to all customers and serve as a product knowledge expert.
- Model company values, hold associates accountable, and serve as a role model for customer service.
- Serve as manager‑on‑duty in the absence of the Store Manager or Full‑Time Assistant Manager and communicate important areas to leadership.
- Conduct Take 5’s to keep associates informed of daily company and store communications.
- Maintain highest standards in store operations per the policy and procedures manual.
- Partner with associates to ensure store neatness, maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Execute merchandise displays and visuals to enhance the brand.
- Assist in placing supply orders and monitoring inventory levels.
- Effectively manage time for self and associates.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years prior retail experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to apply retail math principles.
- Excellent computer skills and ability to use a POS system.
- High level of initiative and accountability.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.
- Detail‑oriented and consistently meets deadlines.
- Lift up to 30 lbs; push, pull, bend, and stretch frequently.
- Stand for periods of 8–10 hours per day.
- Use ladders or other equipment for store and merchandising maintenance.
- Work a flexible schedule, including some holidays, most weekends, and/or late evenings.
- Minimal travel may be required for district meetings or banking duties.
