• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with the general public and coworkers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods. The working environment includes typical fast‑paced grocery store tasks, with physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, visual and auditory capabilities.
