Commission Sales, Sales Representative, Outside / Field Sales, Business Development
This is a cold-calling role. Most of the people you call have never heard of PFM and aren't expecting your call. That's very different from warm or inbound leads, so you need to be comfortable, and good, at cold calls.
You introduce commercial vehicle operators to PFM and carry each deal from first call to signed agreement. You run our free DOT Compliance Assessment yourself: a structured 15-minute conversation about the owner's operation that shows them where they stand. Then you present the right plan and its price, and follow through to signature.
Carrier owners are reachable 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern, so this role works best with real availability in that window, including afternoons. You choose your own hours, within the legal calling window of 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in each prospect's time zone.
What you'll do- Cold call companies from your lead list, 40+ calls a day
- Run the DOT Compliance Assessment with the owner or safety manager
- Present the plan and price, and carry the deal to signature
- Keep every lead and note current in the CRM, and follow up until each lead reaches a clear yes or no
- Recent cold-calling experience, with numbers. Cold calls in the last 12 months, to people who weren't expecting your call, at 40+ calls a day. Tell us your numbers. Warm or inbound leads, customer service, account management, or face-to-face or field sales alone doesn't qualify.
- A real conversation, not just a booked meeting. You can hold a structured 15-minute conversation with a business owner about how their operation runs, then present a price with confidence.
- Ready for commission-only. You've been paid on commission before, or you can tell us how you'll cover your first 60 days.
- Comfortable learning new software on your own. You'll use a CRM daily, set up two-step sign-in, and run a structured assessment tool, usually without someone on the phone with you.
Plan on 1 to 3 days of self-paced reading in our training library, so you understand the DOT rules our clients deal with before you talk to carriers. You read at your own pace and on your own schedule, with short quizzes along the way.
Nice to haveTrucking, construction or DOT experience. A plus, not required.
How it pays- 10% of each client's monthly fees for their first 12 paid months
- 10% of one-time fees, like setup
- A $250 New Client Bonus when a new client's first payment clears
- No cap on commission
Twice a month, on the 15th and the last day of the month. Commission is paid when the client's payment reaches PFM, not when the deal is signed. Plan on 2 to 4 weeks between a client's payment and your check.
Commission-only independent contractor role. Commission is earned on payments PFM collects; earnings vary and are not guaranteed. Full terms are in the contractor agreement.
