Emerald Cloud Lab (ECL) offers a pioneering platform for scientists, allowing them to conduct complex biology and chemistry experiments remotely without ever stepping foot in a lab. Our advanced cloud‑based labs support a wide range of research workflows, enabling scientists from academia, biotech startups, and major pharmaceutical companies to execute their experiments from anywhere in the world, without needing to be physically in a lab.

* This is an onsite role at Emerald Cloud Lab's Austin, TX Headquarters.*

As Operations Lead (Operations Team Lead), you will provide on‑site technical support at our Austin, Texas headquarters, ensuring seamless execution of experiments. Under the guidance of the Shift Manager, you will lead, mentor, and support a team of 15–25 members, fostering a culture of excellence and efficiency.

• Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in the laboratory, aiming to enhance team productivity and operational efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, making data‑driven decisions to refine processes and enhance performance.
• Mentor and support team members, promoting a culture of learning and growth within a high‑performance fast‑paced environment.

• Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience leading teams, ideally in settings that demand high productivity and stringent quality controls.
• Possess at least 3 years of experience in environments regulated by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or similar standards in the life sciences/biotechnology sector.
• Be adept at applying systematic troubleshooting methods to solve complex issues.
• Be interested in, or have experience with, learning computer programming to enhance operational efficiency. No prior programming experience is required but is a welcomed bonus!
• Be knowledgeable about industry best practices, such as Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Enjoy the dynamism and challenges of a startup environment.

• Annual Salary: $60,000 to $65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
