JOB SUMMARY
The Gastrointestinal Cancer division of the Simmons Cancer Center is looking to hire a full‑time project manager of clinical research. The Project Manager will assist the GI Clinical Research Manager with study start‑up activities, and also general study maintenance – including PRMC/IRB and FDA submissions. This role will also collaborate with the GI regulatory associate(s) to ensure that trainings and other documents are completed as required.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Experience
5 years of experience in clinical research; including at least 3 years of experience in project management, which may include management of specific clinical trials or clinical‑trials‑related programs; 1 year of experience in managing Oncology clinical trials or programs; may consider additional years of experience in lieu of education.

JOB DUTIES

  • Define project/program scope, goals and deliverables and develop project plans, timelines, and associated communications documents; clearly and timely communicate project expectations to team members and management.
  • Estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project/program goals, and secure buy‑in from necessary participants.
  • Set and continually manage project/program expectations with team members and other principals; delegate tasks and responsibilities; identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team or program.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools; track project milestones and deliverables; develop and deliver progress reports.
  • Compose, edit, or delegate responsibilities to create policy, procedure, and form documents based on project outcomes; align business processes with system changes and provide a mechanism to deliver information to staff and/or faculty as necessary.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project/program execution and management.
  • May supervise staff in performance of duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
