About the Role:
GSI is building a concrete sculpting business within our core Geotech business. We are looking for several experienced concrete sculptors to take on existing and future work.
As a Concrete Sculptor Helper, you will collaborate closely with soils crews, engineers, and project managers to understand design specifications and ensure seamless integration of sculptural elements into the construction process. This position requires a background in concrete sculpting, coloring, texturing, and finishing concrete to meet high standards of quality and precision on time and safely.

Geo Stabilization International is the leading geohazard mitigation firm operating throughout the United States, Canada, and New Zealand. They specialize in emergency slope stabilization, landslide repair, rockfall mitigation, grouting, and micropiles using design/build contracting.
The team includes dedicated professionals with expertise, proprietary tools, and worldwide partnerships to address slope stability or foundation problems in any geologic setting.
Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities:
- Create sculpted concrete (shotcrete) walls, ensuring accuracy, technical specifications, and artistic expression.
- Color, sculpt, carve, and texture concrete surfaces with precision to meet design specifications.
- Finish concrete with attention to detail, ensuring durability and a professional appearance.
- Proficiently execute varied surfaces like stacked stone, geologic, and ashlar.
- Read and understand measurements and technical specifications.
- Adhere to quality, safety, and environmental guidelines that align with GSI’s, state, and federal standards.
- Keep accurate records of sculpting activities.
- Assist in soils earthwork and additional duties such as site preparation, operations, and clean-up.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and project managers to coordinate activities.
Qualifications
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, and operate machinery, tools, and computers.
- Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds regularly.
- Work outside in various weather conditions.
- Moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection often required.
- Exposure to construction site dangers and hazardous materials with PPE use.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to travel extensively on a rotating schedule (2-5 weeks work/travel, 1 week off).
- 1-3+ years of experience in high-volume concrete sculpting, coloring, and texturing.
- Familiarity with sculpting tools and equipment.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.
