Wireman - Substation

DDGrid, LLC is a full-service electrical substation utility contractor serving the Southwest and Southern United States, with 50 years of combined industry experience. We are seeking a Wireman for Canyon, Texas, reporting to the Supervisor of Testing and Commissioning Services.

• Perform electrical installation and removal tasks on substation equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation, including wiring relays.
• Oversee and participate in cable/conduit installation, cable preparation, and wiring terminations in substations and control rooms.
• Complete duties related to substation utility work as required.

• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, cable schedules, and wiring diagrams for installing/modifying protection and control wiring.
• Support project installations, alterations, and repairs near energized or in-service equipment under supervision.
• Review and update project drawings to document progress and changes.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation techniques for utility systems and equipment.
• Create Site Risk Assessments to ensure safety during high-risk activities.
• Prepare detailed reports on project progress, issues, and test results.
• Manage project drawings and maintain site housekeeping.
• Keep project drawings updated to reflect the current condition.
• Promote effective communication and record-keeping.

• At least 1 year of recent Wireman experience.
• Possession of a valid Medical Card certified by a DOT Medical Examiner or ability to obtain one.
• Subject to random drug testing and background checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proper PPE inspection skills and adherence to safety policies.
