Field Installation Technician - Traveling

Overview

The Field Installation Technician Level 1 is an entry level position that physically installs, removes, and modifies telecommunications equipment and infrastructure, including racking, cabling, switches, routers, and power systems, in central offices and data centers.

AFL manufactures industry-leading fiber optic cable, connectivity and accessories and provides engineering and installation services for some of the largest telecom customers in the world. ITC Service Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of AFL that provides managed services and workforce solutions for the nationwide planning, design, construction, installation and maintenance of voice, data, and video networks.

• Installation – cabling, racking, mounting and top supporting equipment racks or cabinets
• Fiber raceway infrastructure and central/secondary grounding
• Vendor equipment installation and primary/secondary power installation
• DSX cabling, timing cable, alarm cabling, and inside plant fiber work
• Customer site surveys and documentation
• Travel to various sites and work in environments across client locations

• Willing and able to travel 100%
• Hands-on experience with hand tools; knowledge of basic hand tools
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening
• Valid Driver's License (Real )
• Dexterity in fingers and hands; good hand/eye coordination
• Ability to work from heights with proper fall protection
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, stand, bend, and drive a vehicle
• Read, write and understand English
• Must be at least 22 years old (for car rental)

Experience with telecommunications is desired, but not required. Training will be provided.

• Starting pay range: $24.00 - $25.00/hr

• Ability to accept assignments that involve travel away from home market based on client needs, business needs and project scope
