Position Summary
A Technician is primarily responsible for diagnosing drivability and electrical systems using their experience and technical expertise. They will utilize leadership and mentoring skills to enhance team performance, customer care, and satisfaction. The Technician interacts directly with customers, providing education on vehicle problems and solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair specifications including brake and hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Perform duties of lower-level roles such as Technician B, Mechanic, and General Service Technician.
- Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers and employees clearly and effectively.
- Continuously update technical knowledge through training to keep pace with automotive technology advances.
- Assist fellow technicians with technical tasks.
- Notify management of mechanical issues as they arise.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies.
As a leader in the shop, you are expected to set the pace and foster a team-oriented environment. Collaboration and a customer-focused attitude are essential. The following qualifications are required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience.
- Four or more ASE certifications are preferred, including A4, A5, and at least two from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1.
- Section 609 certification is required.
- State Inspection license if applicable.
- High motivation, energy, and customer service orientation.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successful pre-employment background check.
- Availability for flexible working hours, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
This role requires physical activity such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, reaching, bending, and operating a vehicle. Effective communication and computer skills are necessary. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
