About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a dedicated Remote Telecoms Field Technician to join their expanding operations, with the primary service area encompassing George . In this vital role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at various client sites. While the role is based remotely for administrative purposes, it requires extensive fieldwork. You will be the face of our client on-site, ensuring customer satisfaction through expert technical support and prompt issue resolution.
This position demands a self-starter attitude with excellent problem-solving capabilities and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of service delivery.
- Perform on‑site installations, configuration, and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems, including routers, switches, and fiber optic equipment.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and preventative servicing to ensure network stability and performance.
- Respond promptly to service calls and customer issues, diagnosing and resolving technical problems efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical issues and provide solutions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures during all site visits.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports and inventory logs.
- Proven experience as a Telecoms Field Technician or in a similar hands‑on technical role.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications hardware, software, and network protocols.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across a designated service area.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
