Position Summary
The role focuses on supporting children in the Foster Care/Kinship Program by managing a caseload of families seeking to become kinship foster homes. The specialist coordinates with other agencies, conducts home visits, facilitates training, and ensures regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and engage potential foster/kinship families.
- Organize and oversee training and verification of foster homes.
- Conduct home visits and provide 24/7 on-call support.
- Coordinate child placements and collaborate with intake/licensing staff.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with licensing standards.
- Advocate for cultural sensitivity and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Preferred:
Master’s or Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field. - Bilingual candidates preferred.
- Must meet one of four qualification options based on education and experience in child-placing activities.
- Valid driver’s license required; must meet agency driving standards.
