The Family Place empowers survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.

Position Summary

As a DV High Risk Team Coordinator, you provide leadership, oversight, and advanced advocacy for clients identified as being at the highest risk for serious or lethal domestic violence. This role supervises DVHRT case manager, ensures consistent and high-quality service delivery, and coordinates closely with internal teams and external system partners. The Coordinator maintains up-to-date knowledge of domestic violence trends, laws, and best practices, oversees crisis response for high‑risk referrals, and facilitates case reviews and collaboration with multidisciplinary partners.

Through expert-level assessment, safety planning, data reporting, and cross‑agency coordination, this position ensures that survivors receive immediate, comprehensive, and effective support. When you step into this role, you will be a lifeline for families transitioning from crisis to stability. Your work will directly support our mission to empower survivors of family violence by helping them access safe housing, secure essential resources, and rebuild their lives with dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise the DVHRT case manager, including training, coaching, assigning, and directing work.
  • Work with Client Services staff to coordinate services and advocacy for clients who are on the high-risk case load for residential and non-residential services.
  • Provide crisis intervention, case management, and referrals to counseling services for clients in need of support.
  • Support the DVHRT Case Manager by assisting with Tier 2 calls as needed.
  • Receive daily list from Dallas Police Department with high-risk referrals. Contact all Tier 1 clients within 24 hours and assess their needs. Maintain communication with the Dallas Police Department High Risk Detective regarding all high-risk cases.
  • Review all high-risk clients during weekly 1:1 meetings with Senior Director.
  • Work collaboratively with the DVHRT Systems group, which includes the Dallas County District Attorney, Dallas Police Department, Dallas County Probation, Baylor Hospital, Parkland Hospital, and Genesis Women’s Shelter.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings with Domestic Violence High Risk Team case review members (TFP‑DVHRT, TFP‑Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program, Genesis Shelter and Support).
  • Conduct weekly support group for Tier 1 clients.
  • Conduct individual meetings with staff members on a weekly basis.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on DV and related topics, including providing training and participating in speaking engagements.
  • Prepare and provide timely progress reports and statistical information required by The Family Place referral agencies and funding sources.
  • Assist in providing data and/or statistical information required for grant reporting and outcomes.
Other Duties

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or similar and at least 2–3 years of experience in the court system involving victims of domestic violence. Master’s Degree preferred.

Licenses And Certifications

Valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear driving record.
