Our team is growing! We're looking for a Principal Software Engineer - Tech Lead to help take our web app and tech stack to the next level. What

You'll Do
  • Partner with Product Management to understand business requirements and end-user experience
  • Drive web application architectural decisions by working with other leads, developing a maintainable and reliable set of edge applications
  • Provide input towards technical and functional innovation, as well as development process improvements
  • Enable our product team to tap into our valuable data sources and build incredible features for our customers
  • Actively participate in all development projects and work together to build high quality solutions
  • Present prototypes and functioning code to Product Management for review
  • Provide constructive feedback on merge requests to increase code quality
  • Ensure software developed adheres to best practice and quality standards through code and design reviews
  • Present ideas in the form of lunch and learns to technical staff to help shape our technical landscape
Your First 90 Days

In Your First 30 Days, you'll build an understanding of our product architecture, standards, and development tools. You'll get hands on in our current web stack (30% of your time). You'll collaborate with Product Management to familiarize yourself with the backlog and development priorities. You'll begin building a healthy working relationship with our Support team. You'll come up to speed on our Scrum ceremonies and release processes.

In Your First 60 Days, with the partnership of our Product Management team, you'll co-create a backlog of work to systematically add new features from which the entire team can pull work items from. You'll contribute to backlog refinements. You'll familiarize yourself with the telemetry tooling needed to diagnose and monitor product issues, and strengthen your understanding of our team's unique strengths and nuances.

In Your First 90 Days, you'll help instill the discipline of effectively monitoring and creating work items from our SDLC, including monitoring issues in our lower environments and support with any issues in production environments. You'll contribute meaningfully to our technical roadmap and scheduled deliveries. You'll help mentor other engineers in our development frameworks and play a meaningful role in hiring future team members.

You'll become a subject matter expert on the product components for which your team is primarily responsible.

Who You Are
  • 7+ years of full stack development experience
  • 3+ years of C# .NET Core experience
  • 2+ years of front-end development experience using a modern JavaScript framework (web or mobile)
  • Experience with SQL Server, including querying, tuning and performance testing
  • Experience with caching services (e.g., Elasti Cache/Redis), search services (e.g., Open Search, Elasticsearch, Azure Search), and familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP IaaS offerings
  • Ability to evaluate risk, prioritize work, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in a disciplined Agile environment
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science
