Senior Software Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Milliman, Global Corporate Services (GCS) is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience in cloud development, with deep expertise in Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Azure cloud services. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of the SharePoint Framework (or expertise in developing custom applications using modern front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue, along with strong full-stack development skills), API development, cloud-native best practices, and Dev Ops processes to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hands-On Development:

• Develop and maintain scalable applications using C#, SPFx, HTML, CSS, React (or framework of choice), Type Script, JavaScript, Power Platform, Azure Cloud Services, Microsoft Graph API, PnP JS, Power Shell, SharePoint REST and custom APIs.
• Develop and optimize Azure Functions, Web APIs, Runbooks and cloud-native solutions.
• Automation using Power Automate and create low-code/no-code solutions using Power Apps.
• Apply best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment to ensure all solutions are robust, reliable, and secure.
• Work independently and troubleshoot issues, resolving technical challenges and clearing dependencies in a timely manner.
• Follow coding and compliance standards, contribute to and maintain technical documentation.
• Leverage AI tools and technologies throughout the development process to automate repetitive tasks, enhance code quality, and boost overall productivity.

Agile Practices, Dev Ops & Continuous Innovation:

• Continuously learn and adopt the latest features and updates in leading cloud platforms and technologies. Explore and identify opportunities to integrate AI and intelligent features into solutions.

• Collaborate closely with team members within an Agile framework, actively participating in sprint planning, assist in defining acceptance criteria, identifying any technical dependencies, and effectively sizing user stories to ensure clear requirements, and alignment with sprint goals.
• Utilize Azure Dev Ops and Git Hub to plan, track, and document work, ensuring transparency and effective project coordination

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience as a Software Engineer.
• The ideal candidate must have Minimum 6 years of hands-on development experience with any major cloud platforms.
• The ideal candidate must have proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Office UI Fabric/Fluent UI, Azure Services, and Power Platform. Skilled in coding languages such as C#/Python, React/Angular, HTML, CSS, Type Script, JavaScript, SQL and Power Shell.
• The ideal candidate must have expertise in API integration using Microsoft Graph API, REST APIs, and PnP JS, enabling seamless data access and interaction across Microsoft 365 services and custom solutions.
• The ideal candidate must have working knowledge of Git Hub and Azure Dev Ops tools for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Must have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

• Familiarity with Azure AI services, including Generative AI (e.g., Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI) to enhance solution capabilities with intelligent features.

COMPENSATION:

The overall salary range for this role is $93,700 - $185,400. (National Min – Notable Max) For candidates residing in:

• Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $103,070 - $169,950.
• New York City, Newark, San Jose, or San Francisco the salary range is $112,440- $185,400.
• All other locations the salary range is $93,700 - $154,500.
