Position Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Schedule:

4 days onsite, Monday – Thursday

Contract Length/Details: 6-month contract-to-hire

Rate Range: $40/hour to $47/hour (rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)

Job Description:

• Interpret written requirements and technical specifications for software solutions to business problems.
• Develop software based on technical specifications.
• Analyze and investigate problems with software solutions reported by clients and document investigation results.
• Perform maintenance of software and correct defects identified during the maintenance process.
• Run unit tests on created software, implement test plans and test harnesses, and document test results.
• Investigate and suggest solutions to defects and problems detected during testing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute, and maintain automation test cases and scenarios for high-volume, low-latency web and desktop applications.
• Design test automation frameworks for web services, APIs, and web-based applications.
• Ensure automation runs continuously, analyze and document results, and promptly report failures.
• Partner with scrum team members to build automation solutions aligned with Schwab SDLCs and business objectives.
• Design data persistence using SQL, Mongo
  
  DB, or other database management systems.
• Drive continuous improvement in performance testing strategies and methods.
• Mentor peers and junior SDETs, promoting best practices and standards through code reviews.

Additional Job Details:

• Experience with Agile/Lean development and testing practices, including Automated Test-Driven Development, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery.
• Experience with web service virtualization, data virtualization, and test data management.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server or document-oriented databases (e.g., Mongo
  
  DB).
• Advanced hands-on software development experience and leading automation framework development (3–5 years).
• Hands-on experience with Dev Ops and Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, Puppet).
