Job Overview
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general supervision of Manager, Terminal Experience, orders, receives, tracks, stocks, issues, ships and maintains parts, equipment, and supplies across terminal storage locations. Work may be assigned by Terminal Experience Supervisors.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities- Inspects materials, supplies, and equipment received for damage; verifies that materials and supplies received comply with specifications and are the correct quantity, description, and code number; updates and maintains receiving records.
- Issues materials, parts and supplies to authorized Board employees, maintains records of available supplies and equipment on hand. Keeps Terminal Experience team aware of available inventory items and records transactions. Coordinates delivery times and equipment work with terminal teams.
- Stocks terminal storage shelves/bins; rearranges terminal materials and supplies in accordance with accepted warehouse and good housekeeping practices, such as 5S inventory management; assists in taking physical inventories. Serves as a liaison between PMM, warehouse service providers and suppliers in resolving inventory and equipment related issues.
- Reviews and tracks the status of requisitions, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Ensures receipt and delivery of materials to Business Unit Staff, contract service providers, terminals or other storage locations.
- Operates a vehicle to pick up and deliver parts and supplies. Distributes supplies according to terminal management teams to contract service providers.
- Operates a Computerized Inventory Control System involving terminal equipment and supply use, including tracking useful life of products towards obsolescence and replenishment. Creates and utilizes methods of tracking terminal equipment and contractor inventory and makes recommendations on optimal order and on-hand quantities.
- Operates banding machine, forklift truck and other power and non-powered hand-operated warehouse equipment to move materials.
- Identifies inventory, equipment, and supply trends by tracking use and expenditures and takes action to find efficiencies. Other duties as assigned.
- Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
- One (1) year of general warehouse experience including general clerical experience.
- Six (6) months of inventory process management experience.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
- Ability to operate forklift and other material-handling equipment.
- Ability to operate Computerized Inventory Control Systems.
- Ability to write legibly in recording warehouse transactions.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and to figure weights and measurements.
- Ability to work other than assigned shift when required.
- Ability to work at various locations on DFW Airport premises.
- Ability to pass a medical physical examination.
- Some college coursework
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Department may require up to three (3) months of experience operating equipment common to a warehouse or terminal environment.
- Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport’s Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.
- Department may require up to three (3) months of experience operating equipment common to a warehouse or terminal environment.
- Works in a high volume, customer environment.
- Performs heavy manual labor, frequently exerting forces equivalent to lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally exerting forces equivalent to lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Operates banding machine, forklift and other powered and manual warehouse equipment.
- Communicates by telephone and in person.
- Uses keyboard devices and computer monitors.
- Performs basic mathematical calculations and figures weights and measures.
- Drives to locations on Airport property.
