Commercial Service Technician - Dalton, GA
Wilks Tire & Battery Service
As a Commercial Mechanic you will work at our Wilks Truck Center location providing light mechanical service and tire service to the Commercial Trucking industry. You will perform the following service on commercial trucks, RVs and trailers:
Responsibilities- Perform light mechanical maintenance on commercial trucks and trailers including lube, oil change, filter service, alignments, front end suspension, brakes & air system, DOT annual inspections.
- Determine service requirements from commercial truck drivers and communicate to Service Supervisor and/or Service Technicians.
- Properly execute required service tickets to submit to management.
- Respond in a timely manner to customer service calls, diagnosing issues and performing on‑site repairs and/or replacements.
- Clean and maintain service equipment.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
- Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting of commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.
- Report any safety issues immediately to management.
- Help keep shop clean and organized.
- Maintaining a professional appearance.
- Minimum 1 year of commercial experience including brakes, oil changes, front end work, and all wheel position alignments.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Have your own tools.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- DOT Inspector Certification.
- ASE Certification.
- Commitment to follow all safety procedures and comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
- Must be a self‑starter, willing to take initiative, able to work without direct supervision, and willing to attend training sessions.
- Strong work ethic; independently motivated to produce results with limited influence from others.
- Hard worker who works diligently to get tasks done and demonstrates personal characteristics such as responsibility, dependability, conscientiousness, communication, and teamwork.
- Display a commitment to learning new technologies within the rapidly changing industry.
- Ability to review, analyze, and interpret information, identify problems, and make decisions.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow procedures and guidelines.
