Dalton State College delivers a transformational education experience in a community serving more than 5,000 students through its two campuses and online programs. Located about 90 minutes from Atlanta and 30 minutes from Chattanooga, Dalton State is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in northwest Georgia and is surrounded by abundant outdoor recreation opportunities. We attract students from 35 countries and 26 states. Approximately half of our students are first‑generation college students. Dalton State is Georgia’s first federally‑designated Hispanic‑Serving Institution (HSI); through this designation, we administer a Title V and a Title III HSI STEM Grant program that benefit all students.

The School of Arts and Sciences at Dalton State College invites applicants for part‑time instructors in the following disciplines: astronomy, chemistry, engineering, physics, and sustainability. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, off‑campus, or online courses. Qualified local high school teachers interested in teaching dual enrollment courses at their school are also invited to apply.

A complete application must include a letter of interest, a curriculum vita, and unofficial transcripts of all college work (official transcripts are required upon hiring). Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.

• Teach courses at the undergraduate level.

• An earned Master’s degree, Doctorate preferred, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the specified field or a closely related discipline.

• College classroom teaching experience.
• Earned Doctorate.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to teach in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online classrooms.
• Willingness to accommodate a variety of learning styles and use applied learning approaches.
• Support the DSC Vision, Mission and Values and foster an environment of diversity in culture, thought and experience.
