Summary

The Utility Electrical Engineer is responsible for the preventive maintenance on equipment used in manufacturing processes to ensure the successful execution of production activities in accordance with high industry standards and within manufacturing timescales.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure cleanliness of machines and machine components by using hoses, air guns, IPA, cloths, vacuum and other appliances.
  • Disassemble machines and take off parts for replacement or repair using chain falls, hand tools and jacks.
  • Examine or carry out tasks on broken machine parts and identify defective parts or give recommendations to supervisors on repair requirements.
  • Replace, fix or realign machine parts and accessories in line with production specifications.
  • Apply adhesives, lubricants or other materials to machines or their parts as well as other equipment in accordance with the procedures stated.
  • Put machine parts together after completing maintenance and repair work.
  • Take off hardened material from machines or machine parts using power and hand tools, jack, sledgehammer, abrasive and other appliances.
  • Follow electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Interpret PLC ladder logic programs.
  • Follow local, state, and national electric codes.
  • Have strong knowledge of electrical components and motor control.
  • Have strong knowledge of HVAC and VRV systems.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of Hanwha Q CELLS.
  • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in handling machine and machine parts.
  • 1-2 years of mechanical maintenance knowledge.
  • 1-2 years of electrical experience if applicable.
  • Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctioning electrical components.
  • Discipline to execute tasks without procrastination.
  • Excellent time‑management skills and the execution of all orders and/or demands in a timely manner.
  • Ability to handle basic tools.
  • Learn how to operate the BMS System, Dock Door/Leveler Maintenance, Dust Collector Maintenance, Exhaust Fan maintenance, Humidifiers and High‑speed Doors.
  • Strong knowledge of safety precautions.
  • Strong knowledge of motor controls, photosensors, conveyor systems, etc.
  • Strong knowledge in troubleshooting AC/DC voltage.
  • Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Must have strong knowledge of electrical test equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, process calibrators, etc.).
  • Able to tolerate a fast‑paced work environment in areas that are not climate‑controlled.
  • Assertive, capable of coping with pressure, and a team player.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to stand and walk in the production area throughout the workday.
  • Able to lift to 50 pounds without restriction.
  • Reach, push, pull, or lift as required within limits set by Hanwha Q CELLS USA, Inc.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with factory automation, i.e., robotics, or complex servo‑controlled systems.
  • Be able to work voluntarily and creatively and constantly improve your competences.
  • Stay responsible for job‑related problems and maintain job ownership.
  • Fluent in both Korean and English.
