Human Resources Generalist at Synthetic Turf Resources (STR)
Job PurposeThis position is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Director of HR to support business needs. The role covers benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and employment law compliance.
ResponsibilitiesHR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations, including USCIS Form I-9 verification and periodic audits.
- Develop and maintain affirmative action programs; file EEO‑1 reports annually and other required filings.
- Maintain HRIS records, create positions and seats, manage benefits, salary, wage data, and compile reports from the database.
- Perform employee data management and analysis to ensure data security and compliance with company policies and privacy regulations.
Recruiting & Employee Relations
- Interview, screen, and recruit candidates for professional and technical positions, matching experience with job requirements.
- Support all HR functions including recruiting, labor relations, compensation, benefits, training, equal employment opportunity, and record keeping.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design processes and manage HR program implementations.
- Participate in developing department goals, recommend innovative policies, and continuously improve departmental efficiency.
Payroll & Compensation
- Conduct market research to benchmark pay scales and process all pay increases, vacation payouts, and annual bonuses in the HRIS system.
- Process payroll deductions, including garnishments, support orders, and bankruptcy payments.
Employee Leave & Benefits Administration
- Administer all leave types: FMLA, state leaves, personal leaves, supplemental medical leaves, and workers’ compensation cases. Coordinate with Safety Department and Workers' Compensation Adjusters.
- Process unemployment claims and attend hearings as required.
HR Process Optimization & Financial Oversight
- Implement scalable methodologies and tools to optimize HR operations, streamlining onboarding, hiring, termination, timekeeping, and other employment life‑cycle activities.
- Review credit card statements for compliance, adjusting limits as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of HR experience.
- PHR or CP (Certified Professional) preferred.
