Position Overview

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS:
This position is a hybrid role requiring the associate to be in the office (Dalton, GA) at least 2 days a week.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Leave Management Operations Manager will enhance the experience of Shaw associates and their families by overseeing the administration and operations of leave-related programs within the Total Rewards framework. This role   is responsible for   managing day-to-day operational   process es for leave management, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and other leave programs, ensuring alignment with The Shaw Way.

The position leads a team of Leave Administrators, driving   process   standardization , continuous   process   improvement , and compliance with federal and state regulations.

The ideal candidate will provide strong leadership, foster an inclusive team culture focused on exceptional customer service, and ensure first-contact resolution for associate inquiries. They must manage multiple concurrent initiatives, develop and track performance metrics, pay meticulous attention to detail, and communicate effectively with associates, third-party vendors, and internal partners. Balancing task-oriented execution with strategic thinking, the candidate should be a quick learner, adept at assessing situations and determining appropriate actions.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Collaborate with the Sr. Benefits Manager to oversee operations, administration, and projects related to leave management programs as part of the Total Rewards strategy.

+ Build and   maintain   relationships with third-party vendors   (Unum & Prudential) , internal partners, and Total Rewards teammates to ensure seamless program delivery.

+ Manage or resolve exceptions to support Shaw's Associate Experience strategy.

+ Lead the administration of leave programs, including FMLA, STD, LTD, and other leave types, ensuring compliance with plan guidelines and regulations.

+ Oversee the Leave Management call center and team inbox, ensuring   accurate   and   timely   responses, and serve as the escalation point for Leave Administrators.

+ Act as the subject matter expert on leave programs, including eligibility, documentation, and coordination with benefits like Direct Bill while on leave .

+ Ensure compliance with federal and state leave laws, including FMLA, ADA, and other applicable regulations, while   maintaining   HIPAA compliance and protecting against liabilities.

+ Develop, analyze, and present reports on leave program data, trends, and vendor performance, making recommendations for improvements as needed.

+ Partner with internal teams to ensure   accurate   data integration and interfaces within Workday and other systems   for leave   tracking and payroll accuracy.

+ Oversee   timely   and   accurate   processing of vendor payments related to leave programs.

+ Assist   in creating communication materials to educate associates on leave policies and processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ College degree   with 5+ years of HR/Leave Management or Benefits-related experience.

+ High School Diploma with   9 + years of HR/Leave Management or Benefits-related experience.

+ P roven e xperience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred), Workforce (Time & Attendance )   and call center platforms (e.g., Gen e sys).

+ Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to coach and develop team members in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

+ Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on associate satisfaction.

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills (bilingual preferred).

+ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.

+ Strong organizational and time management skills with a task-oriented approach.

+ Advanced   Excel skills   (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs etc.)

+ A nalytical skills to interpret data and drive decision-making.

+ In-depth knowledge of leave policies, procedures, and federal/state regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, ERISA).

+ Ability to   maintain   a high level   of confidentiality.

+ Limited travel   required   ( approximately 2-4   times annually).
