General

Job Description

The Technology Support Technician installs, modifies, and makes repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance to system users. They provide technical advice and service to ensure the highest feasible operational readiness of all technology equipment, devices, and software. The position requires a general understanding of PC hardware as well as Windows and Apple operating systems, excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills, timeliness and accuracy in completing requested work, and the ability to work respectfully, collaboratively, and efficiently with staff.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position include:

  • An associate degree or higher in a technology field; or at least sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education; (official transcript required to validate education)
  • OR
  • Three or more years of work experience working with Information Technology in a professional capacity.
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to frequently:

  • View a computer screen to interact with software
  • Listen and comprehend instructions
  • Effective and appropriate communication through verbal and written means
  • Sit and focus on tasks for extended periods while using a keyboard and other electronic devices

This position occasionally assists with technology services tasks that require the ability to:

  • Crawl under tables
  • Climb stairs
  • Climb ladders
  • Lift up to 40 pounds
Other Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required.

Work Schedule

12-month position working 225 days per year. Typical schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, with some variation due to projects or response to issues. Reports to Director of Technology Services

Work Location

This position works from the Technology Services Department with primary responsibilities at an assigned school or school(s) within the district.
